Apprenticeship Funding Guide

Apprenticeships are funded differently depending on the type of employer you are. Small businesses may have their training fully paid for, while larger employers may share the cost with government or use their apprenticeship levy.

To make things simple, we’ve created a funding flowchart for you to easily see which option applies to you and exactly what apprenticeship funding you’ll receive.

Remember that apprentices never pay for their training.

Apprenticeship Funding
Flow Chart

A flow chart showing the apprenticeship funding guide.
  • 5% Co-Investment โ†’ You fund 5%, government funds 95%.
  • Fully-Funded โ†’ All apprenticeship funding covered by the government.
  • Apprenticeship Levy โ†’ All apprenticeship funding costs paid through your apprenticeship levy contributions. If your levy is under the minimum, you’ll default to 5% co-investment on the remaining amount.
