This week our apprentices swapped toolkits for bandages as Vicky from St John’s Ambulance came in to deliver a hands-on first aid session.
The training gave everyone a real insight into the basics of first aid. It helped them build the confidence to step up, as well as the theoretical knowledge, should something happen in real life.
Here’s what some of our apprentices had to say:
- “I feel as though the contents of this course was delivered to a high standard which instilled the confidence in me to attempt first aid in a real life scenario.”
- “Very enjoyable lesson taught in a way that’s easy to understand.”
- “Really informative lesson into basic first aid training. This has made me feel more comfortable in future if I ever encounter a situation where this is required.”
- “It has made me feel more confident on how to deal with a situation that could happen at any time.”
- “After completing this I can identify the different signs for certain injuries and situations so I can act accordingly.”

The feedback speaks for itself! Everyone came away feeling more prepared and reassured that they could make a difference in an emergency.
Learning first aid alongside their apprenticeship is a huge bonus for our apprentices. Now they’ve also picked up practical life-saving skills they can use anywhere. It’s all about building confidence and being ready to help when it really counts.
Another massive thank you to Vicky and St John’s Ambulance for running such an engaging and confidence-boosting session. We look forward to the next one with our apprentices👏
