This year is coming to a close, and very quickly in fact!
With only 10 days left in 2025, and 2 until our academy shuts up shop for the holidays, we wanted to give you the progress update we hope you’ve been waiting for!
Our brand-new practical simulation pods are looking bigger and better than ever – all thanks to our apprentices from cohorts 1, 2, 9 and our Elite Group. They’ve all been helping to fit the pods with fire and intruder alarm systems that will be used for apprenticeship training and future EWA delivery.

Learning by Doing
Practical learning has always been one of the most important things for our apprentices. As our academy grows, so too does our commitment to providing realistic industry training environments that prepare learners for real-world work.
The apprentices have been installing a range of systems, including fire alarms, intruder alarms and associated components. For many, this has been their first experience working on a fully networked system from start to finish.

This approach allows them to build confidence, develop competence and understand how systems operate in real-life settings. It encourages problem-solving and team work.
None of this would be possible without the expertise and support of our training team. A huge thank you goes to Keith and Matthew, who’ve been guiding apprentices throughout the installation process, and creating a safe, supportive environment where they can learn by doing.
And, of course, special shoutouts go to Elevation Fire Training’s, Steve, who’ve been travelling up from our Peterborough academy every week to make sure all our fire systems are installed to the highest standard A big thank you goes to Keith who has been travelling up each week as well.
Supporting Future EWA Delivery
These new simulation pods won’t be gatekept by our apprentices! They are being purpose-built to support the delivery of our new Experienced Worker Assessments (EWA).
In short, this two-day assessment will be your route to an ECS Gold card!
It’s designed for candidates, with five or more years of experience in the fire, emergency, and security systems industry, to demonstrate their occupational competence. It’s JIB/ECS approved assessment for experienced FESS technicians wishing to prove competence and obtain and ECS Gold card.
Our new pods will allow us to assess competence in a controlled setting that reflects the conditions technicians face on site.
Think you need an EWA? Contact Paula Emery for dates as they’re selling out fast!
A Sign of Growth and What’s to Come
The installation of these practical pods is another exciting step forward for Elevation. Alongside our building move and expanding our course offerings, the pods represent our ongoing investment in quality training and industry-led education.
As we look ahead to future intakes and the continued development of our programmes, our new facilities will pay a vital role in supporting apprentices and experienced workers alike.
Learn. Grow. Evolve!
